Bankruptcy Is A Tool – Not A Reflection Of Character

My name is Keith Cornwell and I’d like to welcome you to the best law firm I know – The Cornwell Law Firm. I happen to be the lead attorney and want to deliver some information to you that I know will really help you with your finances. I have a lot of experience in representing people who are filing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. These two bankruptcy types are the two I want to inform you about today.

If you are burdened under the weight of a mountain of debt, let me help you work out the best possible solution for getting your finances back in order. I love my career because I get to help so many people turn their lives back around when things look bleak. It is so rewarding to know that what I do influences lives in a positive way.

I know that most people feel like filing bankruptcy is shameful in some way. The truth is, these laws were not created to shame people, but to assist people who needed help in these types of circumstances. It is simply a legal tool to help people out of a bad situation. I know many of you feel embarrassed about it and think your friends and family will think you are irresponsible and unable to manage your life. That is not even close to the truth. Financial troubles can happen to ANYONE

Nobody can predict life, and things like auto accidents, unexpected medical bills, deaths in the family, loss of a job, and many more are things that happen all across the country every day. These circumstances can throw even the shrewdest financier into a tough situation, maybe too tough to handle. Bankruptcy is a tool for situations just like that.

I am always proud to be there to help someone who needs it. I am happy to hear your situation and give the best advice I can to steer you in the right direction. Bankruptcy is not the solution for everybody, but for those who can use it, it works well when done right. Financial burdens can put a lot of stress on you, and stress begins to show up later on in your physical health. So what I do is very important, and I take it seriously.

Chapters 7 and 13

If you fit the description above then let me help you get your life and finances back under control. Together we can find real solutions that will breathe life back into your world. If you fall into the category of a consumer debtor, then the option of Chapter 7 is the one that will fit you most often. However, if you don’t pass the ‘means’ test and your income is too high, then it could be that Chapter 13 is the best solution for you. Plus, it is entirely possible that neither is going to work for you, and we will have to seek an alternative solution.

Things like child support, recent taxes, student loans, court-ordered fines, victim restitution, or alimony, do not qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. What does qualify are specific unsecured debts like past due cell phone bills, taxes (so far back), personal loans, credit card debt, medical bills, and utility bills.

With a Chapter 13 you will be reorganizing your debt. You’ll be paying off either all or just a portion of, the debts you owe across a time period of 3 – 5 years. An affordable monthly payment amount will be set, that you will pay each month to your bankruptcy trustee, who then distributes it out amongst your creditors. The among of your payment and how long you have to pay it will depend on your specific situation and income.
